Positive surface temperature anomalies in the Ural Federal District, in the central regions of Kazakhstan and in the east of Uzbekistan exceed 10 degrees relative to the climatic norm. The Siberian depression of the circumpolar cyclone at the AT-500 level in the first decade of January was strongly deformed by the high geopotential over the east of Kazakhstan and Mongolia. According to forecasts based on the SL-AV and MGO model, in the next week the deformation of the depression will persist, positive geopotential anomalies will be observed over Central Asia and southern Siberia:
Such circulation processes are confirmed by forecasts of the indicies according to the SL-AV model: positive phase of the EU oscillation for January 2025, which indicates positive surface temperature anomalies in most of Northern Asia.
