Significant anomalies: in the period from February, 12 to February, 19 positive temperature anomalies (up to +6...8 degrees) are expected in Central Asian countries.

Significant anomalies: in the period from February 16 to February 20, 2026, positive precipitation anomalies are expected in the central and southern regions of the Central Federal District and in the west of the Volga Federal District.

On May 29, 2025, the side event "Adaptation and Resilience to Glacial Hazards" was held in Dushanbe (Tajikistan) as part of the High-level International Conference on Glacier Conservation. The event comprehensively discussed climate change and related risks in Central Asia, presented some tools and methods for adapting to climate change in the region, as well as issues of regional cooperation to increase resilience, especially in the face of the threat of glacial hazards.

The main goals of the event:

- Present diverse climate risk profiles of Tajikistan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan;

- Showcase glacial hazards and their impact on food, energy sector and ecosystems in diverse geographies of Central Asia;

- Highlight the Regional Plan of Action on sand and dust storms in Asia and the Pacific in specific context of glaciers of Central Asia and Hindu Kush Himalaya;

- Present the technologies (IBF Forecasting Tool, AI) for glacial hazards towards realizing the UN Early Warnings for All initiative;

- Illustrate how regional and national climate forum can play an enabling role to accelerate adaptation actions;

- Showcase examples and best practices on regional cooperation on addressing glacial hazard risks.
